Do i have a ruptured eardrum?!

Question: my left ear had been clogged up 4 like months now and he told me to do the pinch nose and breathing thing. I do it a lot. Like every 5 min and sometime quite hard too.

However after doing it for 4 months. i have started to feel heaps of air pressure push in my right ear. It doesnt flow out. When sneeze or burp. The right ear opens but dont feel the air.

While doing the "Pinch nosee...." exercise i can feel the air push as if its in my ear canal.

If the pressure builds up then it's not ruptured (if the eardrum has a hole in it then the air will go out through it).

Sounds like you have constant fluid behind the eardrum... the "Valsalva maneuver" that you were told to practice can force the fluid back out the Eustachian tube (a good thing).

However, if it's not working (and it sounds like it's not) it may have evolved into "glue ear", where the fluid is thick and can't be forced out. The problem with this is that it can damage the tiny bones in the middle ear (which can result in permanent hearing problems).

You need to see an ear specialist ("ENT"). He or she might recommend putting a small hole in your eardrum (not very painful, and it heals up very fast) so they can suction the gunk out of there. They might even recommend tubes (like they do with small kids who have recurrent ear infections).

I wouldn't put this off... you don't have to run to the emergency department, but I'd call for an appointment before the week is up. This is not an extensive list of what might be happening, just the most probable. There are many causes of decreased hearing (even too much ear wax).

See a Doctor !!

You've been given very bad advice. Stop doing what you're doing and go see a doctor. (Typically a ruptured eardrum will cause bleeding from your ear, but that doesn't mean your eardrum isn't ruptured.)

here's a BRILLIANT IDEA ::: DO A PHYSICAL

Such serious health issues can't be question on the internet What's Wrong with you rush to the clinic and see your GB abt it !!!!!!!!!!!!! ya may become deaf if ya ignored it

I don't think it's ruptured, but you should see a doc. You may have blockage.

ear drum rapture is manifested with hearing problems as reduced frequency of voice but this maneuver is too harmful to u espescially for rapturing the vesselesof the eyes

normally the doctor can see the ear drum by seeing it after punching the ear downwoard and laterally,,, normally it looks shiny any lesion can be seen
