type 1 is uncurable
type 2 is. there is a reason doctors don't mention it - they can't sell you pills if you cure it. look at my sources, and take care of your sister
You can get it by being overweight. If diabetes runs in your family and you are overweight to boot? Then that's a recipe for disaster.
You'll need to see a doc for blood testing to be sure, but some signs are:
Extreme thirst
Extreme Hunger
Peeing all the time
Tired/Feeling run down
Left untreated your blood sugars will wreak havoc on your body and can cause blindness, limb amputation, strokes, heart attacks, decreased feeling/numbness in toes......
See a doc if you suspect you have it! Don't let it go as I did. I also have PCOS which tends to run hand in hand with type 2 diabetes......that's another nightmare of its own.....

Doesn't sound good. I have type 2. Type 1 runs in the fam. A person w/o diabetis sugars should be around 80-120. I know that when my sugar is high, I feel tired, hungry (sometimes) very thursty and almost disorented. I do keep my sugars under control w/ diet. Maybe if she got a glucometer and checked regulary and wrote everything she ate down. For lunch.. 15-30g of carbs and lunch and dinner.. 40-60g carbs. Test 2 hours after eating. I test 4x's a day and write it down. This helps me from over eating.

You need to buy a book on diabetes. There is way more to know than anyone on answeres can tell you. Talk to a doctor also.
