When I am at work?!

Question: I am a closer in a deli. And at night we have to wash and sanitize all the dishes we have. So my hands are in and out of the soapy water and sanitizer all night! My question is i get dry rashes, and red splotches on my hands and arms, is this serious? It gets to the point where my arms are so dry and cracked that it hurts.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of lotion is the best for this, or if I need to go to the doctor and see what the say!?

I am not allergic to any kind of soap(well not that I am aware of)and I use all different kinds, so I was thinking if it is a reaction to the sanitizer?

Could you try using rubber gloves?

It might not be an allergy to the sanitizer, but merely that all the alcohol in it is drying you out.

A good way to fix hands is to put lots of a deep moisturizing creme on your hands at night, and then put cotton gloves over them.

I have had good results from Neutrogena Norwegian formula. Eucerin also makes one.

Cetaphil it is awsom

use rubber gloves when doing this and get yourself some hand lotion to put on your hands. and get the scent free lotion cause lt sounds like you have very sensative skin

I've been diagnosed with OCD and wash my hands all the time. The same thing happened to me my hands got all dry and sore. I went to the doctor and he couldn't care less. he just rubbed me off and told me to use some lotion. But my doctor is a jerk, tried to send me to a mental hospital for a sudo ceasor, Maybe your doc will give you a perscription. Mine just went away after about 3-4 months. Good Luck!!

I wash my hands alot and find that they sometimes peel. What I do is use hot water when I wash my hands and then immediately use some lotion because your pores open up and it's easier to absorb. I also ocassionaly use some sea salts with a mint oil to scrub my hands and that takes care of the dry flakyness. One other thing you can do is treat yourself to a paraffin wax treatment. It leaves your skin feeling so soft and wonderufl!

Avon has this product called "Silicone Glove:. It is a cream that you put on areas of the body that you don't want to get wet. Its not expensive. The stuff works great. Give it a try.

this is an easy one and its not serious. First if you can wear gloves that would help a lot. Second I would look at eurecin cream it comes in a big tub and works fairly well. I would highly recommend getting the long yellow like gloves. That is basically the most you can do.
