Soar Throat?!

Question: I have a soar throat for about a month. One month ago I went to the doctor and they said I had strep....blisters on my throat. I tood penicilin. 3 days after the penicilin was done the blisters came back. I ache all over, my glands hurt, my head hurts and and chilling but not running high fevers. I went back to the doctor and they have now given me Kelflex. 2 days into this my blisters are worse and I feel worse. Should I request blood work? What all could this be? I am a single mom and do not have time to be sick....can someone give me advise.

Absolutely get additional blood work. Strep is nothing to mess around with. I know from experience the damage it can do to various parts of your body. You are a mom and you need your health. Have you searched online for the symptoms of strep that involves blisters? There are some pretty serious sounding things there and you should stay on top of things. Just be sure that when you have finished your entire antibiotic that you are totally clear of the infection. I would suggest asking for another throat culture to be sure. My daughter had this when she was young and today lives with a variety of ills because of it. Good luck and God Bless You. ps. You might try gargling with an equal mix of water and hydrogen peroxide. I find this to be quite effective for sore throats. And, yes you can gargle with hp. It even says so on the label (just don't swallow it)

go back to the doctor. penicillin doesn't work on everybody. me and a few of my cousins are immune to it so when we get strep (i seriously get it like 4 times as much as a normal person) they have to give us some other medicine.

you may have to have you tonsils taken out.
if you get sick repeatedly like that you should talk to your doctor about getting them taken out.
and penicillin doesnt work for everyone.

I had blisters in my throat once also, from a constant sore throat. I was told by my doctor that this was viral and that antibiotics would not cure it. The best thing I could do is gargle with Listerine Antiseptic Mouthwash several times a day (only Listerine brand since it will kill germs unlike just flavored mouthwash) to prevent infection. Within 3 days of gargling, the sores began to go away. The Listerine kills off bacteria that cause the blisters. Try this first before seeing a specialist. Good luck!

sure,

see, drink a tablespoon of honey with pepper
