What is the symptom overlap between multiple sclerosis and fibromyalgia?!

Question: I have MS and my Mom has fibro..what seems to be the same in both of us is constant pain and fatigue.
However, the difference in the pain is that if you touch my Mom she feels it for months...sounds kinda crazy...but that is what she says. With me and MS..it's not about being touched or even hit..it's that everything hurts (occassionaly) for no particular reason especially when I am tired.

There is also the numbness that sets into your feet or hands...we both report that. Other then that in my experiece that is all.

I don't know about symptom overlap, but I know that swimming makes both of them tolerable. I have Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS) and I swim for 20 minutes at least 2 times a week, up to 4 times a week. There is a woman with MS that I often see at the pool and she says the same thing I say "swimming has given me my life back". Simply put, if I swim, I don't have FMS, if I don't swim regularly, I go back to my crippled, fatigued state.

Occasional generalized weakness and muscle pain. If it's MS and not fibromyalgia, you likely have some history of visual symptoms. Fibro has something called the 'fibro fog', where everything is kind of fuzzy, while MS has an actual cognitive decline...
