Mystery Cough...?!
Question: Ill start last night, I had a date, and ended up making out. This morning, I woke up with a bad cough, Its in my chest, and Its not uncontrollable, but its kinda ticklish. When I do cough, its dry, and hurts the center of my chest. Ive taken cough medicine, and It seems to have stifled the coughs, but I still have the ticklish chest, and Im worried I might have Bronchitis, and even more worried that I passed it to my partner.
Any idea to what this could be? I havent been coughing for long, just today.

Chances are you have a chest cold and it will have to run its course...continue taking a cough suppressant as directed...if the cough worsens or lasts longer than a week, or if you develop a fever, call to make an appointment with a physician. As for your girlfriend....you very well may have passed it on to her, but she probably wont see symptoms for a few days.

Most viruses (like colds and flu) have a 3 to 5 day incubation period and are most communicable 3 days before the first day of symptoms--so, in 2 to 4 days she may be coming down with a cough too.
