My 4 week old son has a heart murmur!should i be panicked?!

Question: well..it depends on the type of murmur.for example, innocent murmurs do not need treatment because they have a normal heart. If your child has an innocent murmur, alert your paediatrician during regular check ups and if theres an innocent murmur due to an illness or condition such as anaemia, hyperthyroidism, or fever, the murmur will go away once the illness or condition is treated......abnormal Murmurs,
varies depending on the specific heart problem.
you should keep on regular follow-ups and contact ur physician if any deterioration in his condition.

No, most murmurs are harmless , if you take your child in for check ups the doc will keep a check on this. most of the time the child will grow out of this.

What does your doctor say. Its not good to get advice about medical things from a site with few doctors. Please ask your pediatrician.

it is a concern but heart murmurs are very common. i work at a dentist and 1out of 10 people have them. i think it means the heart beat at an irregular beat

A LOT of people have them and lead full, active lives. Next time you're at your doctor's office, ask him/her about it. They can listen in and determine if it's something they like to test further.

Ya, please freak out. Dont consult a doctor, but post it on the web. Excellent.

First of all....all heart murmurs are not harmless. You need to be asking your pediatric cardiologist not a 16 year old kid which is what you will get in here. What did your doc say? Listen to him/her......they kinda know what they are doing.

Don't panic but stay aware of it and learn about it. 20% close in the first year on their own. Link attached.

Murmur refers to a swishing sound as blood travels through a hole or a leaking valve. Most likely it is a hole.
