My friend has double cancer?!

Question: Hi. I really need advice from someone that has gone thru this. I got a call last night that a very dear and special friend of mine has been diagnosed with Liver and Lung cancer. And, it's not good. Now, I don't know all the details yet. I have been very close with him and his wife and kids. They are very dear to me. They moved from So. California to Florida and I've only seen them one time since they've been gone.
My question is this. Do I send a letter and what do I say? They have asked for no calls right now. It's a very serious and surreal thing to deal with. He is the nicest guy in the world. In my world anyway and he just loves me. His whole family does. Anyway, I'm a bit lost right now. Sort of not knowing how to feel. I watched my surrogate ma go thru lung cancer and die. It was horrific. I know this isnt' a happy topic, but I just need to know what to do. Do I send a stuffed animal? A letter? What do I say when I do get to call? Any help would be really comforting. Thank u!!!

He's probably having lung cancer with spread to the liver, so is incurable. If he's seeing an oncologist (cancer specialist) this doc can advise him if any worthwhile palliative (that is trying to inhbiti the ancer from growing, and treatment to make him feel less sick) chemotherapy is possible. Please don't encourage him to spend a lot of money on so called miracle/natural cures, don't you think if that were true they would have earned the Noble Price for Medicine by now? Many prey on desperate sick people who are understandably grasping for the last straw of hope. When you write of phone, tell him/them sincerely how sorry you are, you could ask him how he's doing/feeling, and LISTEN, all sick persons need a sympathetic listener. Be honest, sincere, don't rub it in but don't pretend everything is OK either. I have dealt with dying cancer patients in my own family, also professionally since I'm a practising physician consultant.

What I would do is a little research on Natural Cancer Cures, such as Apricot kernels. Then I would send this information with a note saying that it is never to late to try something different.
Conventional medicine is not always the best or only answer.

Also, it would be wise to investigate a product called CARCTOL.

I think you should send a card (a handmade one would be more meaningful if you're crafty) with a short note saying how much you love them and are thinking of their family. Leave it at that for now until they're ready to entertain phone calls and visitors.

here's one article from http://www.cancertutor.com :

Jim Kelmun Protocol

How It Works

This treatment is a combination of pure, 100% maple syrup and baking soda. When mixed and heated together, the maple syrup and baking soda bind together. The maple syrup targets cancer cells (which consume 15 times more glucose than normal cells) and the baking soda, which is dragged into the cancer cell by the maple syrup, being very alkaline, removes the microbe inside the cancer cell.

The Protocol

Mix one part baking soda with three parts (pure, 100%) maple syrup in a small saucepan.

Stir Briskly

Heat the mixture for 5 minutes.

Take 1 teaspoon daily, as needed.

Very Important Note: Do not use baking soda which has had aluminum added to it, such as Arm and Hammer. Buy a product which specifically states it does not include aluminum or other chemicals. This will probably have to be purchased at a health food store or online (e.g. Bob's Red Mill, Aluminimum-Free, Baking Soda).
