My boyfriend is experiencing a decreased sex drive due to his medication. How ca!

Question: My boyfriend is experiencing a decreased sex drive due to medication he is taking (Atenolol) and everytime I try to talk to him about it, he gets angry and accuses me of being insensitive. How can I approach the situation and, more importantly, is there anything I can do to alleviate it?

Atenolol is a beta blocker it can decrease the sex drive. He is probably sensitive to not being able to perform. I am going to assume he is taking it for blood pressure. You may ask to go to his next doctors appointment and request another medication such as ACE inhibitor or an alternative. Doctors do not always ask if the b-blocker is affecting the patients sex drive. Please let him know that men and women have this side affect, not just him.

who cares. Just keep your pants zipped and it'll reduce your chance of getting pregnant. Better for both of you

Maybe he is just being kind. Are you really sure it is the medication?

Well, if one medication does that, then see if you can find something like Viagra or something in that direction. Maybe even consider having him take lower doses of his medication. Have him eat oysters, they will boost his sex drive, I promise you ;)

take a lover

He should talk to his doctor, and ask him to change his medication. There are many other beta blockers available that have fewer side effects that atenolol.

Atenolol is notorious for this specific side affect.

are you real a girl controls it all you know if you go down on him he will work as long as you put a lot of efort in it
just dont stop jump on him make him lick you to get forcefull they like that

This is very hard for a man to come to terms with. Sexual dysfunctions strike about one in four men due to some causes, usually medications.
You don't say an age. He should see an Urologist, he'd see how alarmingly the male population is full of this.

Don't push him, nudge him along.
