Will taking prednisone only once in a while, once a day, still cause side-effect!
Question: I've heard that large doses and extended treatment using prednisone can result in lots of weight gain, unwanted side effects, etc. But what if you only pop a pill or receive a shot once in a blue moon for emergencies or things of the sort?
Also what about Advair?

I have to take prednisone when my already terrible asthma gets really bad. I just recently finished a round of it yesterday, and I was taking like only 30mg a day, and didn't notice any side effects. A few months ago I was very sick and had asthma problems, and they gave me huge amounts of prednisone (like 6 pills a day) to take for almost 2 weeks. It was then that I noticed side effects (mainly horrible acne), but went away when I was done taking it. The advair has no side effects that I have ever seen, I have been on the strongest dose for several years now.
predisolone can be safely administered by a doctor, if he feels you need it and would benefit from it, then listen to him. Advair, again is safe if monitored by a physician. Never take such things on your own.
Prednisone is a powerfull steroid.
If you take it long term, many things will happen that you will not like. If you take a lot of it, really bad things can occur.
