Can you catch cold below -10 degrees C ?!

Question: Viruses live in warm, moist conditions. The reason why people are most likely to get sick from cold viruses is due to heated indoor environments which creates the perfect environment for them. The virus can live on door knobs, faucets, cabinet doors, telephones, for several hours in a warm place, but no, not in freezing temps. There are over 250 different types of cold viruses, so there might be a few that can live in the colder temps, but I have never heard of them.

To get a cold you have to get it from another
person that already has a cold.

I'm not sure what you're asking.

As an above poster said, to catch a cold, you have to be in contact with someone who is carrying the cold virus. The temperature is irrelevant: being -10C will neither cause nor prevent a cold.

The last study to try and discover if temperature had any effect on contracting the common cold and influenza virus, pointed to the temperature inside the nose. It was inconclusive, but some evidence pointed to contraction rates in people with colder noses.
The other posters are telling you a simple truth though: you catch a virus by coming into contact with it, usually airborne droplets containing the virus, sometimes by touching infected objects and rubbing your eyes afterwards.

no climate is not a prime reason for cold
