Ringworm treatment?!

Question: Has anyone used over the counter remedies to cure ringworm on your pet and yourself?

Answers: Has anyone used over the counter remedies to cure ringworm on your pet and yourself?

Fortunately, none of my 5 cats has ever been infected with ringworm fungus. Through working with infected cats at shelters, I've had ringworm 3 times and used over the counter anti-fungal creams to cure it. I once worked with a shelter vet tech who applied bleach to her ringworm lesions-she thought it worked faster than the anti-fungal creams. (she would never do that to a cat!) At shelters, cats are sometimes shaved to speed treatment, and are dipped in a lime sulphur treatment. Please see the link below for more info.

i would use an antifungal cream since ringworm is a fungus.

I used a cream and a spray for athlete's foot, (I think it was Lamisil) but it didn't work as good as the stuff my doctor gave me.

Last year I had REALLY bad ringworm. I went to the doctor, and they gave me cream, pills, and shampoo. The ringworm was gone in about 2 weeks.

So it's best to see a doctor.

yeah, it helps. .the best remedy though is direct sunlight which will kill it much faster. .over the counter stuff should work fine though. .i used both and it was gone within a week

I bought anti-fungal cream at Walgreen's , my sis had it and it cleared up just fine. For animals I think a vet has to give them medicine . Hope that helps.

NO, I know they have stuff at wal-mart ...But I value my dogs life he's one of my best buddies..........To the Vet he goes to make sure its not something else along with it...
Good Luck
