I prefer Wild Blueberries.

Antioxidants are a group of vitamins, minerals, and enzymes that act as tiny heroes in our body fighting off the bad guys also known as free radicals.

Our bodies are made up of atoms that contain protons, neutrons, and electrons.

The free radicals are formed when our cells are exposed to certain substances (pollution, smoke, drugs, alcohol and pesticides to name a few).

They are also formed when our body performs various metabolic processes (for instance, using stored fat to create energy), and when we eat a poor diet.

When the free radicals are formed, they steal electrons through a process called oxidation.

The molecules attach themselves to the cells in our body and weaken them, leading to a variety of degenerative or immune-deficient disorders.

Antioxidants have the power to give up electrons and still remain stable. This stops the ruthless free radical chain reaction. That is why antioxidants are called electron donors.

They are not only able to give an electron to a free radical and satisfy its balance (so it will stop robbing us of ours), but it also gives electrons back to a tissue that has already been robbed.

drink coffee. and green tea. it helps you with your body's metabolism plus it also revitalizes you.

I just went to buy some and was also confused.
I started reading the label And some had herbs & some vitamins in them.
Go to a vitamin shop near u and tell them what u r looking for. They sell both herbal & vitamins, & they will know the difference.
I didn't get any because the two i found both had garlic in them & i am allergic to it.

There is no clear answer here. Green tea research (and to some extent other teas including good ole sweet tea) is promising. However, every clinical trial so far with antioxidants has shown either no benefit or in some cases (vit E and beta-carotene for instance) HARM.

If you eat a good varied diet with adequate amounts of fruits and vegetables, get exercise, you are probably ok without supplementing. If you have other health problems or bad dietary habits, a standard MVI without ridiculous amounts above the US RDA (100% all you need) should be sufficient. Overall there is very little evidence to support most vitamin supplements, mostly because studies are lacking.

Doesn't mean they don't work, just no proof they do. Buyer (or in this case ingester) beware. I'm sure all those study subjects who took vit E, b-carotene, and more recently folic acid thought they would benefit from these vitamins.
