I got tested for HIV after 13 weeks....?!

Question: Please tell me how certain I can be of my negative test result.

Answers: Please tell me how certain I can be of my negative test result.

The window period for HIV is usually 3 months for most people. A patient usually develops HIV antibodies 4-12 weeks after exposure, but not all. 99% of all patients will develop antibodies at 3 months. Very rarely does the window period last up to six months. These are very rare cases. HIV tests taken at the 3 month period are considered conclusive, though some patients seek a 6 month check for reassurance. Therfore you need not worry about the authenticity of the result. There is no need for undue worry.

Not sure at all. a HIV test needs to be administered after six months in order to really know. I wouldn't have unprotected sex until the six month test has come back negative.
