Would a full blood count show if you had a lymphoma?!

Question: I have had a lump in my lymph gland in my neck for over a year now, ive been on antibiotics and had blood tests...the antibiotics helped slightly but the lump remains there, the blood tests also showed up both times normal. i went back to my doctor and because i have had the lump for a year she is referring me to a specialist but of course now i cant help worrying thats its going to be cancer or something just as bad! everythime i get a headache the lump goes big and when i feel fine the lump is smaller but still there! would a full blood count and liver function test be able to see if i have a lymphoma?

Well I do not think that malignant tumors get larger then smaller, it would stay the same or only get larger. But always talk to your doctor about the possibility, cancer is not anything to take into your own hands, definitely get medical opinions.

No it would not help you, it may help the doctor in some aspects. But as regards to diagnose your lymph nodes enlargement your doctor will recommend a histological test to differentiate between lymphoma and chronic inflammation.
