Is it normal to cough after exercising?!

Question: I have exercise induced asthma and your symptoms is quite similar to mine..

Why don't you use a scarf and breathe through it when you exercise and see whether it improves your condition??

Exercise induced asthma = will make you cough after you stop exercising or during an exercise.. condition will worsen after ten minutes but usually will resolve within 1 hour..

Go to a GP and get an inhaler (ventolin or atrovent) and use it 10 - 15 mins before an exercise.. and remember to carry the inhaler with you when you exercise..

HTH..

EDIT: You can try cod-liver oil to strengthen your lungs..

No. It might suggest that you have exercise-induced asthma.

If you exercise regularly No. Have you just started exercising? Do you smoke? If so it will take time for your body to get used to exercising.

It depend on what your doing. If your outside, the cold air can make you cough, or any drastic temperature change(outside to inside) will have the same effect. If your coughing, but nothing is coming up, you may have asthma, or your lungs just aren't getting enough oxygen. If its asthma i would go see a doctor about it; its not a bad idea to get them to check you out.

When I do an exercise that really gets my heart rate up I have noticed I have a few dry coughs afterwards. It doesn't last long and it is the only time it ever happens. It has done this for as long as I can remember. I figured I just opened up something and I'm still here so it is nothing to worry about if you ask me.
