Possibility of Heart Problems?!

Question: For the past week I have been having heart palpitations. Its has been a month since I've been to the hospital and had an EKG done and I was told that besides the beginning stages of high blood pressure my heart is fine. But I feel these palpitations more and more. So should I be worried? I'm sure that since I don't have a primary care doctor at the moment there is so much the Emergency room can do. Should I be concerned? I've also been told that it could be due to stress on my nervous system.

I have the exact same thing. I started getting palpatations just out of the blue. There was nothing wrong with me. It wasn't a particularly stressful point in my life. I just started noticing that my heart would flutter/stop every once-in-a-while and it was scaring the crap out of me. So, I went to the doctor, got an EKG done, and a holter-monitor put on for 36 hours. It was so not worth it. It's just one of those things that you'll probably have to deal with for the rest of your life. It does probably mean heart problems in the future--I've been told that I have high blood pressure too. Palpatations are an electrical problem, by the way. Chances are that you and I will end up with pace-makers when we are older. But in the meantime, there's no time like now to make good choices that will keep our hearts healthy. Take walks, eat right, stay un-stressed. You should be just fine.

That sounds rather bad. But, maybe you are just imagining things

Maybe you need to take some anti anxiety medication, and watch your diet.

you need diet http://www.google.com/custom?domains=www...

i had palpitations that lasted for about a week last month. i ended up inthe hospital and they did a chest ct scan and an ekg and a holter monitor...nohing turned up and they went away...no explanation will i ever get...i am only 25. i think i was stressed out....and the more i felt them, the mroe stressed out i became whoch then in turn made them worse...its a vicious cycle...taking anti anxiety meds isnt a bad thing and maybe that would calm you down...good luck...try not to worry so much...its just life!!

I have those too - I talked to my mother about it, and she said she gets it too if she drinks too much coffee - and especially if she's had too much chocolate AND coffee.... So, I guess take note of your caffeine input - at least that's what I'm doing. See if it's related to when you have these palpitations..... keep a notebook to see when you are getting them, and compare to what's going on around you.... nervous, scared, heard a loud noise... you get it..... good luck! ?
and of course, go get it checked out when you can!

I have heart palpitation a lot, especially when I am under stress or when I am highly emotional.
My doc says I should not be worried at all - just relax and go about my business as usual.
Worrying can make it seem worse than it really is anyway, so since your last check up was okay - I wouldn't worry if I were you.
HOWEVER . . . I am NOT a doctor and I am not you; if you truly feel there is something wrong, or the palpitations interfere with your normal activities, see a doctor ASAP!

Sometimes anxiety can cause this problem. Try and stay away from anything with caffiene in it.
