Relax here. You don't have to deep clean the entire house. Lice need blood to live, and they don't leave the head unless there is a nice human head to move on to. Strip the pillowcase, gather up the brushes and combs, hats and hair dodahs. Wash the pillow case in hot water and bake it dry in the dryer. Put the brush and comb in water, then nuke those in the microwave for 2 minutes- it will kill anything. The hats and hair dodahs can either be washed and bake dried like the pillow case, or frozen in the freezer for 48 hours. Lice don't live in cracks and crevices, your furniture is safe, so are the pillows and drapes, and all the other stuff. Lice like heads, it's that simple. To be safest for you and the daughter, do a repeat shampoo in two days time- just to get anything you may have missed. And relax. It happens. If your daughter has friends who go to daycare or she goes to daycare, that's where the little darlings came from. They hop head to head in little kids all the time.

Lice break out in schools all the time. Don't worry.

Your local drug store / chemist/ sometimes grocery store will have products to shampoo your hair. AND a very fine comb to remove very small black eggs. These eggs can hatch again in 10 days.

Doctors will advise you to use the product a few times, ujntil you are absolutely sure that all lice are dead. Because, over the last 10 years, the lice are developing a resistance to several "non-perscription" shampoos. It will be harder to control lice if we let the little critters survive ONE treatment only.

BED LINENS: I have heard that a clothes dryer on the hottest setting will kill lice and eggs. Furniture? Don't worry, the lice will not stay long where there is no human. They will travel.

put ur bed sheets in black bags in the sun, also make sure u wash everything real good. keep averything clean.

Wash your bed linens and wash your hair with Rid X.

To start both need to have hair treated with shampoo for lice and combed with fine comb to remove eggs ( these can hatch even after shampooing). So be sure to use the product as the bottle says to avoid reinfestation. You can usually find it @ pharmacies.
As far as from furniture and things like that... there is also a spray that can be bought for these things. Be sure to get everything .... brushes combs pillows etc.
