Is there a faster way to clear scabs?!
Question: I have two weeks to get ride of scabs on my arms & legs.
I'm using Protopic ointment & an hydrocortisone, for other problems but I just can't clear some scabs. I don't pick because that's just gross but my skin is itchy so I accidently sometimes pick them as I'm stratching!
Anyone have any ideas or solutions that clear up scabs quickly?

Hi Dannie, a daily ritual while in the hospital, burn victims have to soak themselves in water so the nurse can scrub the scab off. Soften up first with warm water, then after it's removed rub some antibiotic ointment on.

if you could speed up your immune system yes, other than that vitamins might help a little bit, but you have to take them a while to be present in your body everyday
Scabs are a cure in themselves...so no.
Although medically inadvisable, I derive great pleasure from picking my scabs, particularly if I can pick one in a single go.

You could have eczema that would produce scabs that will not go without treatment so SEE A DOCTOR! or ask the chemist. hope this helps
My husband was riding around on his Kawasaki bike and came off of it on the A406 and slid across three lanes - luckily he wasn't hurt but just had a massive skid mark (no, not the poo kind!!) on the side of his thigh and once it dried up he picked it off in one sitting!!! GROSS.

If you have a scab, soak it in warm water and try to peel it off. Dry the area and a new scab will form. This will cause the wound to heal faster.

As already doll you need something to soften the scab but saying that a scab is there to heal and it will come off once it has done the healing, if you take it off too soon you will start all over again.
