Do people unconscious before death know loved ones are there?!

Question: My mother passed away in hospital at 3.34 am this morning, 29 January. She was in a type of unconscious state and just quietly stopped breathing. She and I were very very close. Would she have heard me talking to her and touching her?

I'm very sorry to hear about your mother. I hope you're comforted to know that she most likely did know that you were there, but even if she didn't know through her physical body her spirit knew you were there as she passed.

When I lost my sister she was in a similar unconscious state. As the end was nearing we were all telling her how much we loved her and that it was ok to let go. She was unable to speak, but just before she passed tears started flowing from her eyes. We took this as the only communication she was capable of in her final moments and that she heard us and would miss us too. I miss her so much. :(

Hearing is much more acute during the dying process and I believe it to be the last of our senses to remain. Your mother would have heard you. Her brain would still have been able to functionally ascertain what you were saying.

Your loving talk and touch would have eased her departure .
I am sure she will rest in peace.........Alison

Many people who have been in a coma have come out of it, and told what people were saying around them.

They are especially more sensitive to those who they are close to.

So, it is very, very possible that she heard every word, and felt every touch too.

i am sorry for your loss. my father in law also passed away one month ago. he was ill for 2 years and for the past 3 weeks he was in a coma.but we were there and somehow we felt that he could hear us. it is said that in coma the mind can hear but cannot respond. so there is a possibility that she herd you. in our religion ,islam, it is believed that the spirit of the dead does not leave the earth just after death. the spirit stays bound in earth for 40 days for prayers. so we pray day and night for our departed and after 40 days the spirit takes all our prayers and goes to ALLAH for good. i dont know if you will believe this or not but i would advice you to pray for your mother.it is the only thing she can take with her now. be strong.contact me anytime you feel bad.lots of love.

They don't know s-h-i-t-!

People in comas apparently can hear quite well.
If your mom was on the "24hr morphine" then yes, she would've heard you and probably could even have enough straight thoughts to work out what was going on.

I am so sorry about you mother. I believe that people can hear until the last breath is taken. Hear is always the last to go when people die. I am sure she knew you were there and she felt you there. God Bless You and Keep You IN his Grip.
