Answers: I also have Type 1 diabetes and celiac disease and have a perfectly normal weight and exercise quite a bit.

Blood pressure refers to the amount of blood that your heart (the left ventricle in particular) is exerting against the aorta and arteries. This pressure is measured in Millimeters of mercury. The top number, the systolic, is the number that reflects pressure at the time of the heart's contraction. The bottom number, the dyastolic pressure, refers to the pressure during relaxation of the heart. If you have high blood pressure, then this means that your heart is working extra hard, to keep up with providing blood transport to your whole body, and it could be an indicator of various things. For instance, you could have high cholesterol. That is, waxy-like stuff that starts forming on your arteries and if that is the case, then you need to do something about it before they get all clogged up and your heart stops.

The treatments for this depending on the severity include exercise, and a balanced diet. If you are at a later stage and this is the true cause of your high blood pressure then you might need medication. There are various things that can cause a high blood pressure, so you need to determine the root of the problem to find an appropriate solution.

Type one diabetes, well again, you need to take control of your diet if you haven't already done so. You have more reasons than one, to do it.

Drink plenty of water also, because this is vital to life. If you are doing everything right, and you aren't drinking water, then you might as well not do things, right? Ok no, but still, water is a must, and in your case, you are not the exception.

I certainly hope that you get better. And be healthy! :D

Excess sodium, genetics...lack of exercise (but I doubt it's that, since you do exercise.)
