Any Doctors out there? I have dry blood in my throat?!

Question: I am 33 y/o. I had my tonsils out in September, and now I have a bad cold with a cough, and fever. Today I woke up with dry blood on the back of my throat. Should I be concerned? My ENT doctor is not open yet, to cal for advice.

the blood is definatly abnormal. I think this is coming from your nose, sinuses and naso-pharynx. the blood in your throat, I think, came from that area.

sorry im no doc but im a medical assistant

you should have a careful direct exam of all your upper airways and voice box with a fiberoptic laryngoscope

I think it may be an infection.

I'm no doctor (but I'm an EMT) but I know if you've taken any OTC cold meds they can dry out your sinuses and cause nosebleeds because the tissue is thin and dry. Maybe this happened in your sleep and it drained to the back of your throat. You could also have a sinus infection or strep. It's worth getting checked out but I wouldn't be alarmed.
