I have the flu with fever and took aspirin. I'm 20 years old.?!

Question: Should I be concerned?

Answers: Should I be concerned?

I would say that it was not a good thing to do. I would also be looking for symptoms of reye's syndrom which taking aspirin with fever at young age can cause, just to be on the safe side. Odds are you will be fine. Next time I would make sure if you have to take some thing, go for tylenol. Also, a low grade fever is good, it's when it gets to 103 and over you need to worry. If a fever hangs around 101 to 102 that means its your bodies natural defense system doing its job, and you should let it. After that you will be less likely to get the same again. I'm sure you'll be fine, good luck.

No. Aspirin is a fever reducer. It's a better idea to let your fever run it's course, but you're not going to die.

You are not at as high of risk for Reye's Syndrome as a younger person would be, but I would recommend never taking aspirin for a viral infection - just to be safe.

Switch to acetaminophen or ibuprofen, and drink lots of fluids.

well I had the flu not that long ago just go and visit a doctor and have chicken noodle soup and alot of liquids it helps!
Listen to what your doctor says to take!

Probably you will be fine. When I was a kid they gave us asprin all the time and it is still given to children in some countries. There is a small chance you could get Reyes Syndrome, a liver disorder. See the website below for more info:

no, unless you downed a whole bottle of aspirin at once. Then you should go to the emergency room...

If you didn't down the whole bottle then you'll be ok. Just avoid aspirin next time. Should have taken one pack of Theraflu, get as much rest as you can, and drink water and soups.

If the fever is over 102-103 yes. You have an infection from something. Gargle with hydrogen peroxide.
