Does a person have to have a prescription to acquire needles for allergy shots?!
Question: Well if you are getting the shots at the doctors office I would say they should have them there. But on getting needles it depends on the state you live in. I use to live in Massachusetts and when I left you couldn't get them without a script. But now I live in NC and you can pretty much buy what ever you need.
I would advise caution if you are giving yourself the shot or if someone is giving it to you. Make sure you know the proper techniques and have someone with you. Also have an epi-pen available incase you go into analphylatic shock. That way someone can still you with the epi and call 911.

In Illinois, you can buy up a limited supply of needles without a prescription. If you want your insurance to cover the needles or need more of them, you'll need a prescription.
