Does anybody know anything about bell's Palsy?!

Question: It is a viral infection that affects the facial nerve and can give your face the appearance of having a stroke. (Drooping of the corner of the mouth, drooling, inability to close one eye, generalized weakness to one side of the face.)

Usually goes away on its own. Rarely, some residual effects. No real treatment known.

What did you have in mind?

Yes it paralizes the face and is usually temporary but can last a year. Often associated with pregnancy.

It's an illness where 1 side of the face becomes paralyzed or weakened causing the face to droop. It generally goes away without treatment.

Yes I do I've had it twice.
It's something similar to cerable palsy but not exactly like it. What it does it attacks your nerve's in my case the nerves on the right side of my face. And began to make my face sag a little to this day my face isn't perpendicular any more but its still normal looking. My first case was when I was in the fifth grade my mother thought I was making my face look like that on purpose but when you asked me to smile for her that's when she noticed that my face was a little droopy and took me to the hospital. Back then they went ahead and but me on steroids to build back up my nervous system in my face and it worked it prevented any more drooping at that time. The second time it occurred I was in high school and the ran blood test and checked me for lime disease to see what it is that keeps triggering it in me but they never sent my mother the lab work so now I will never no why I keep getting it but that's all I can tell you about it from my experience I hope I was some help.

It is caused from a viral infection and I have had it. Mine was caused from a severe inner ear infection that I got after having a boil lanced and the Dr. didn't give me any antibiotics. I wound up with Trench mouth and the blisters went up in my ear canals. They finally went away and about a week later I woke up with an itch by my lower lip. It got worse as the day went on and then it started going numb. By the next morning my whole right side of my face was paralyzed. I thought I had had a stroke. I decided to drive back to my home town and go to my family Dr. who I trusted and he told me I had Bell's Palsy and it was caused by the blisters that had been in my ears. I had to take steroids for a month and it took a little over 3 months for me to get the feeling back. Luckily I don't have any severe side affects from it. some people do.

Ive had Bells Palsy for about 8 months.

Bells Palsy is a weakness or paralysis affecting the muscles on one side of the face due to inflammation or trauma of the facial nerve. In my case the most prevalent feature of this manifested in the muscles around the lower lip of my mouth and my right eye. Bell's Palsy occurs more often in people recovering from viral infections and people who have diabetes.

Ive written a few article you might like to check out. Something not in my articles but thought I might mention is vitamin B-12. It has been found to speed healing of Bells Palsy because it helps to heal nerves.
