HELP!!! What the HECK is wrong with me?!?!?!?!

Question: What sort of disease would cause someone to be sick to their stomach with the runs and indigestion for months, always nauseous and feeling weak, tired, and dizzy? I am so skinny I'm getting to the point where people stare. I have been to the doctor repeatedly and even after doing bloodwork on me, no one can tell me what the heck is going on here! I don't think the problem actually stems from my digestive system (like Crohn's or IBS), because I constantly feel very exhausted and weak too, even when I'm not on the verge of hurling. I'll just be sitting there in my car or walking into my house and suddenly I'll feel faint and start sweating and shaking. No one seems to be able to tell me what it is, so I want to know if anyone else has been diagnosed with anything having similar symptoms so I can mention it to my doctor. HELP MEEEEEEE, I'm disappearingggggg!

Sounded like my journey of six months do my diagnosis.... Crohn's Disease.

Seriously. I swear you wrote MY story, especially the faint and shaky sweats. And the only way they can pinpoint it is through a biopsy... from either a colonoscopy or endoscopy (neither are that bad. Really.)

My apologies. But SERIOUSLY, it sounds like Crohn's.

This sounds very serious. Something is obviously going on and this doctor just has not been able to figure it out. You need to continue to be forceful in your pursuit for answers. I would go to see a different doctor, if possible, a doctor affiliated with a major medical center that can do through testing. The symptoms of exhaustion, sweating and weakness are symptoms that can be associated with cancer. Cancer often cannot be diagnosed with a blood test, it often requires ultrasounds, MRIs or CAT scans. As you pursue further medical care, remember that you need to be your own strong advocate to find the cause of your symptoms. Take care.

Have you thought about consulting a naturopathic physician? At this point, what could it hurt? I'm wondering about Epstein-Barr Virus. There are some things that naturopaths can help people with when regular medicine fails. I say this as it been true for two people I know. For myself, a yeast infection in the bloodstream caused a tremendous spread of eczema over much of my body. Today, one can purchase "Yeast Fighters" in most health food stores. Hopefully, you can locate a naturopathic physician and find out how to treat the CAUSE of your symptoms and not just the symptoms themselves. I also suggest you consider a gastroenterologist because you are so thin from nausea and the runs. You've got to cover your bases to get to the cause of it. Perhaps you could try an elimination diet. Possibly you have reactions to wheat, gluten, milk (lactose), corn, etc.

see a gastroenterologist maybe. Besides Crohn's disease or some other type of inflammatory bowel disease, you might want to consider sprue otherwise celiac disease, sensitivity to gluten. If you have not seen a gastroenterologist or do not have one in your area, see your physician and request testing for that. Also, may want to check Helicobacter pylori. Have they checked a CEA level?

Mystery illnesses are never fun, I wish you luck.
