Can the pins i haad in my arms cause a nickel rash?!


Question: i had broken my elbow about 5 years ago and had two pins and then had them removed. then i became allergic to nickel and have horrible rashes. i started breaking out on my arms about a week ago. could it be from the pins i had in my arm?

Medical support pins are usually made from stainless steel of a surgical quality. It is doubtful that your new allergy arose from this. Many people have a nickel allergy (myself included) and it can start at any time in life, even if you previously had no problems.

no they don't use nickel as pins. only titanium. it's the only metal that hypoalageric. the rash is likely caused by something else.
go see a doctor if the rash perishs
