You should be okay, sex can contribute to uti's but doesn't "cause" them, they are usually caused by improper emptying of the bladder (which can be caused by numerous things ex. obesity, back problems). Sex does cause bacteria to build up in the area that urine exits the body through and if you are urinating properly it flushes the bacteria out. So to answer your question, no it is not completely horrible to have sex when you have a UTI (and it should not cause problems for your partner unless they have bladder problems already). You should make sure to take your entire course of antibiotics, drink a good deal of water, opt for cotton panties and showers instead of baths until your infection is resolved. Good luck.
It's not bad for you, but for him it could cause issues. You could wind up giving it to him and they are much more painful for men to get and they're harder to get rid of.
