Disease where words come to life?!

Question: i saw this program on DHC many years ago (ok, maybe like 5/6) they started talking about this one disease where people can see words as they are spoken. so if a person w/ the condition walks by a barking dog, and the bark sounds like "woof" they literally see the word "woof" come out of the dogs mouth. i think the person who had it said that the words and letters come out in different colors and shapes (i guess like a font) but i cannot remember the name of the disease! ik that it is real, but i was young when i saw it on TV, maybe 8/9 ish, but id like to kno more about it. does anyone kno the name??

wow, i never knew about this until your question, I have found some interesting stories, thanks for the great question.

it is called synesthesia

i don't know but i think i just got it.

I think that i saw that too, if it featured a blind painter and a man who was amazing with numbers, then the name was like "Real Superheroes" or the like

I dunno, but I want it. Sounds like a good acid trip.
