I need some help with Acne.?!

Question: Hi guys, I'm 14. I've been on Pro-active for around 6 months, and although it's helped my acne a little bit, I still have a lot on my face. I'm sick of it, and my confidence is basically gone. I mean, no girl wants a guy with acne, right? It's disgusting, and I can't blame girls for it.

I want to try something else. Is there any other products that are almost guaranteed to work?

First of all, don't stress out, you're only 14. That's too young to stress about girls not liking you yet.

Second, for about $50 you can get patch-tested for food allergies. That could be a tremendous help if you have something in your weekly diet that your body isn't meant for. I'm 22 and I still haven't done this (wish I had long ago).

Third, proactive may not be the solution. I've tried all sorts of cleansers and scrubs and the best solution (for me) is this:

ALL I use is the Neutrogena anti-acne face-lotion after every time I shower. That's it. A $5 bottle of facial lotion that contains 2% salacylic acid. And I exercise and eat healthy, and I have almost ZERO acne, and I used to have a lot. I also avoid touching my face and squeezing anything.

Shower in the morning before school and after any work-outs you do. Bad breath is a huge turnoff too, make sure u brush 2-3 times a day. Get a part-time job so you can buy nicer clothes and hopefully a car, go out and learn to dance a little, and you'll have to beat the girls off with a stick. Vanity and narcissism go a long way too, and are good for business (as long as you aren't stuck up or arrogant. Some girls like ***-holes, but the truth is most don't).

Good luck.

Avoid greasy food like (ironically) pizza.

stick with it takes time

no start using acne free, it works way better than proactiv and its a lot cheaper!! you can get it at costco!!

Okay well dont go in the sun too much cause it will get worse. Products dont help they make it worse too. You should go to your family or any other doctor for help if it is very bad. Hope it helps and please pick me for best answer.

Nope. Bascially no products in stores can help you. They are a waste of money. I recommend you to go see a dermatologist. I did that and my acne cleared up within 2 weeks. I haven't had a zit since.

I had a bad acne problem when I was around your age, so the doctor prescribed "Accutane". It really worked but there can be bad side effects. I was lucky and didnt get any but look it up and do a little research.

If Proactiv is not working, I would suggest seeking a dermatologist.

[Acne or not, girls like guys with confidence.]

Tell your parent(s) you need to go to your doctor. Your doctor might be able to prescribe you a med that will help but as in all medications none are Guaranteed because each person is different. If after that you still have problems your doctor can refer you to a dermatologist.

clearsil worked for me !!!

Clean N' Clear blackhead clearing scrub
Noxzema Pads
Oxy Pads
Aveeno Scrub

i agree with u on the girl thing and about ur acne problem u should go to a MACY'S store and tell them ur story if u don't like what they have, another idea is a "LASER" idea try both of them, trust me they will work( a boy in my class had this problem and i told him these same ideas and they worked)

I know of a product that might really help you. Its called "Mystic Garden" by InSpirit Canada.

Its homemade by a holistic healer who uses only all natural vegetable based ingredients.

My friends' daughter (13years old) had very bad acne and found her skin really improved after only 1 week of using the face and body lotion.

I know that it also comes in a wash besides the lotion.

My friend got a free sample from the company so maybe if you email them, they will give you one too.

Besides that - drink lots of water and make sure you are using a gentle cleanser on your skin. Often times soaps are too drying and they can actually make the situation worse.

I hope that helps.

High doses of vitamin A is guaranteed, but there are some risks. If you want to know more, I'll be happy to answer any questions you have. There's way too much to say about it in the answers here... My e-mail is squidge497@yahoo.com

acne does suck but you can get rid of it by using other products , more specifically foaming products. Like some of the acne products that you buy dont foam when you apply it to the face, but some do,like neutrogena and such. Dont forget to wash your face every morning and night and put a facial cream on at night before you go to bed. It will help.If you dont eat a lot of junk food and drink plenty of water, that will help too. If your not satisfied with this answer you can just go to your dermatologist and ask her or him more about it.

i had many compliments on my complexion when i was in younger yrs and the honest true about it my daughter had ance horrible for a while the best thing we found was washing her face with dove soap daily and before bed and using a non oil based lotion after washing .......this is what i did and did for her also with great results .

Several things, but you'll need to see a derm

1. A course of Accutane, an antibiotic. (script from a doc)
2. A skin ointment called Retin A .10%... super good, but in the states about $100 a tube ($20 in Mexico with no script) Lasts about 3 months.

With both of these, don't scrub so hard that you irritate your skin, just exfoliate it gently. Your skin will let you know.

Back when I was a teenager, my grandmother told me to get some lettuce leaves, (the real dark green outer ones), and put them on my face overnite a couple times. It worked! My skin cleared right up! Try it and good luck!!

i know.. i tried the proactive, and was disapointed that it didnt work better. one thing that works really well is the oil from a plant called 'oregano'. i guarantee it works great... theres one brand in particular... i believe its 'oreganol'. the only bad thing is u have to order it off the internet, or get it at a health store maybe

try Nixoderm it works for me search it on google!

I told my son not to use anything, just water, and no scrubbing. And his face cleared up in no time.

same exact thing happens with me..
proactive only works if you keep a correct diet and exercise n stuff.

Try to use it as much as you can but no more than 3 times a day. Also try to get the proactive refining mask and/or the advanced blemish treatment in addition to the 3 piece set. They helped me alot! But I still have one or two pimples that come out occationally cuz im not eating the right food.

btw: the toner does nothing at all to most people. And in some cases it just irritates their skin.

hope this helps

Hi,

I understand how you feel because my husband use to have really bad acne on his face and back. He tried everything and nothing seemed to work.

A friend recommended an all natural method for clearing up his acne and he gave it a try. Now the product owner claims that anyone using his method would see results in 3 days, but we started to notice the skin clearing in about a week. In about a month's time, his skin is clear on his face and back and continues to look healthy. The scarring is not even that visible anymore.

Chemicals are really hard on the skin and only makes the problem worse. Like I said this is all natural with no chemicals involved.

Since you're only 14, I think you and your parents should take a look at this together. You can get more information here:
