Does Clindamycin cause chills?!

Question: I have been on C for about two weeks. I think it is causing me to feel really cold. Not really chills, but just the feeling of being cold to the bone and not getting warm.

It doesn't feel like chills from a cold/infection.

I have read side effects listings but don't see this problem. Has anyone else who has taken this medicine experienced this.

Sounds like it could be related, but it lists it with other flu like symptoms. Maybe because this antibiotic kills off so many bacteria but that one that causes bowel distress, so the chills mentioned here could be if you start reacting to that sort of infection. Not sure. See what your doctor says. Here is what I found at http://www.drugs.com/clindamycin.html

What happens if I overdose?

Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this medicine. Symptoms of a clindamycin overdose may include depression, changes in behavior, or seizure (convulsions).

What should I avoid while taking clindamycin?

Antibiotic medicines can cause diarrhea, which may be a sign of a new infection. If you have diarrhea that is watery or has blood in it, call your doctor. Do not use any medicine to stop the diarrhea unless your doctor has told you to.

What are the possible side effects of clindamycin?

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Stop using clindamycin and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:

*

diarrhea that is watery or bloody;
*

fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms;
*

nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);
*

urinating less than usual or not at all; or
*

fever, sore throat, and headache with a severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash.

Keep taking clindamycin and talk to your doctor if you have any of these less serious side effects:

*

mild nausea or stomach pain;
*

vaginal itching or discharge;
*

mild skin rash or itching; or
*

irritation in your throat.

Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.
