Answers: If you have this staph infection should you treat it with antibiotics and which ones, (culture taken from the patients throat.)

Staph infection that is not antibiotic resistant can be treated in about a month (depending on severity) using antibiotics.Minor skin infections are usually treated with an antibiotic ointment such as a nonprescription triple-antibiotic mixture. In some cases, oral antibiotics may be given for skin infections. Additionally, if abscesses are present, they are surgically drained. More serious and life-threatening infections are treated with intravenous antibiotics. The choice of antibiotic depends on the susceptibility of the particular staphylococcal strain as determined by culture results in the laboratory. Some Staph strains, such as MRSA , are resistant to many antibiotics.

it took six month in the hospital to get rid of my infection and the loss of part of my foot after they cut away the dead flesh and sucked the bone out (they said the bone was like corn mush) they left a open wound five inchs deep and 6 inchs deep, the pus keep welling up inside for about four days but I am all better now (can't dance anymore) it is a combanation of antibiotics that work best no one antibiotic will work you need oral as well as stuff in your veins it is called a pick line they run a tube up to your heart and that is how you get better

If your talking about MRSA, this is a serious infection that's resistant to antibiotics. Some cases call for an IV and you should go to the hospital ASAP.

to be honest depends on if it is MRSA or not. Then depends on how bad the patient is.

Staph aureus from a throat culture? Did a doctor do this? Usually the bacteria in the throat is Strept. Is the person symptomatic? Everyone has staph and strept on them and in their throat, nose, etc... but antibiotics are only needed if the person is sick. If the person is not sick, do not treat with antibiotics.
