Shingles takes a long time to get over. If you are on medication, don't drink or you could be facing a medical problem worse than shingles.

Probably not. Don't drink too much. Go to the doctor and get anti-viral medication. It will make the shingles go away faster.

If the dr. has given you a prescription for your shingles, you should check your prescription because a lot of meds say not to mix with alcohol. If you are in doubt, you can call your pharmacist.

Shingles is from the same virus as the one for chicken pox. Shingles is only contagious to people who HAVE NOT had the chicken pox. If a person who has not had chicken pox is exposed to your shingles, they could get chicken pox. If a person has had chicken pox, then they are not in danger of getting chicken pox or shingles from you.

If you are taking medication to treat shingles such as anti-viral, steroid, or pain medication you can get very ill from drinking alcohol.
Shingles is also contagious. If you friends have had the chicken pox and have NOT beddn vaccinated against shingles you could transmit it to them (or anyone else you come in contact with).
