i think i know what you're talking about. its a sharp pain that comes along all of a sudden and you feel like you cant take a deep breath? i asked my doctor because it happens pretty often to me but he said it was a cramping muscle near your lungs or something to that extent. nothing to worry about though, but no body is the same so if it persists i would recommend asking a doctor just in case. hope this helped a bit.

Go to the emergency room

Pleuratic friction rub....google it

This could be one of several things. Remember that I'm not a doctor and that I always recommend that you talk to one since your breathing is nothing to mess with.
1) You might have a rib that for one reason or another is not moving with the rest of the rib cage and when it does shift, 'pops' into place thus you experience pain.
2) You may have an area a ateletasis and the 'pop' is when the chest wall expands when the alveoli (air sacs) expand pushing against nerve endings that might not normally have pressure against them and again causing the pain.
3) Pleural rub-this condition is much less unlikely as it is when the lining of the chest wall and the lining of the lungs rub up against each other and cause friction and pain when they create just enough irritation to get 'stuck'.
These are my three best guesses. Best of luck to you. Hope you feel better soon.

Cathrena, they say drinking real strong black coffee helps prevent gall stones and helps with asthma. I ain't being sarcastic or ugly, but try a couple of cups of joe? You might find it helps?
