At the end of a virus, i've coughed so hard my neck is stiff. is this normal!
Question: It would be for me. When I broke two ribs, from coughing, my doctor explained to me that I had been coughing so long and so painfully that my whole body was bracing itself every time I drew breath. It's stress that causes that kind of injury. The coughing itself doesn't do it, but your body's response does.
I would advise hot moist heat. Good luck! and feel better soon. Like bad sushi, this too shall pass.
Uh....as the above poster said, if you are still running a fever, go get medical help right away. But you did say that this happens at the END of the virus.

NO! if you are experiencing stiff neck after having some cold symptoms and have a fever you need to see a doctor and get tested for meningitis, a serious condition that can be fatal.
if no fever, then you might just be sore
