Stomach complaint?!

Question: i have had problems with my stomach for months now. i feel sick a lot - but never vomit and have pain just below ribs, sometimes on right sometimes middle. dr said it could be gastritis or ulcer and gave me omeprazole. This seems to make it worse so i stopped taking it.
Anyway my question is should the dr not have arranged tests or something. i have not been back as feel she thinks i am making fuss over nothing. My appetite is also affected and i am off certain foods and have lost some weight - only 5lbs ( i weigh 8stone 10 and am 45 years old).
What is likely to happen if i just leave it and carry on without treatment, i am wary of going back cause she wasnt very nice to me.
I have been under a LOT of stress recently and i know that this affects my stomach too. What do you think?

H. Pylori could be causing the stomach problems:

Doctors can check if you have a lot of this H. Pylori in your stomach by just a blood test...and if they do find a significant amount in your blood, you can do the endoscopy thing and check your stomach....
My parents had it, and my dad also got an ulcer from it. You can also get stomach ulcers from stress, so that could be a reason why you have stomach problems. I've seen your questions (you're in my contacts) and it seems like you're under a lot of stress....Maybe you could go and see someone to talk to? And maybe go to a different doctor?
I hope this helped at least a tiny little bit, and I really hope you feel better soon.

It sounds like it could be gallbladder problems, thats how mine started.
Go to a doctor.

If you can, go to another doctor..that one doesn't sound very sympathetic.

If you leave it they won't know that it is still giving you problems but you do need a doctor who will listen.

They will need to do some tests to find out the reason why you are suffering.

Sounds a lot to me like Gall Bladder problems, i would definitely go back to your gp, until you are properly diagnosed i would try to keep away from fatty foods, because that can really aggravate it , good luck x

It could well be stress but no-one apart from a doctor can really tell you what the problem is - you could always see a different doctor at the practice and get their opinion.

You are right about stress affecting your stomach, but if the omeprazole doesn't work then you should see your doctor again. Have normal indigestion tablets had any effect? Best not just hope it goes away as not knowing will only add to your stress levels. Good Luck.

get a scan for gall stones
oh and go on a very low fat diet

Find another doctor and figure it out!

I don't want to alarm you but pain is a sign of something wrong...avoid alcohol and get you blood tested for cell counts also rest and avoid spicy foods and go check out opson.com

Are you sure you aren't just dehydrated buddy?? Expecting your digestive system to digest food and transport essential vitamins and nutrients with no water in your system is an extremely huge ask ............ Water is imperative to life. Without water your body will have a terrible time breathing, digesting food, transporting nutrients, lubricating your joint sockets etc.etc.etc.etc......... nothing substitutes for water. your body needs at least 2 litres of water daily to function efficiently.

also, try to cut back on drinks such as coffee, tea, alcohol, sodas and soft drinks (if you drink any of them) which will all do great job of dehydrating you. ie: just 1 can of soda or soft drink will make your body peesh out up to 12 cups of water !!! 1 cup of coffee will make your body peesh out about 2 cups of water ........... read the book by F. Batmanghelidj, M.D.... "Your body's many cries for water"...... an astounding and scary and very true read.

As far as the stress is concerned there's a couple of things that you can do to reduce your stress levels in relation to your diet.

A deficiency in vitamin B12 will produce symptoms such as chest pains and heart palpitations, headaches and migraines, numbness and tingling and prickling sensations in the outer extremities, dizzy spells, fainting and loss of balance, excessive sweating, excessive urination and dry mouth, nausea and vomiting, fatigue and exhaustion, depression, insomnia and constipation, irritability and moodiness and an inability to think clearly ....Quite scary actually if you don't realise the vitamin factor.

If you are lactose intolerant or vegetarian then it is really important that you supplement your diet with a multi B complex tablet on a daily basis.

Things that could be robbing you of your precious B complex of vitamins are :- eating too much protein, most otc cold medicines actually, alcohol, eating too much tinned food, antiobiotics ,antidepressants, penicillin, prednisone and aspirin, the oral contraceptive and eoestrogen supplementation.

Take a multi B complex tablet including all the B's ie: B1, B2 B3, B5, B6 and B12 as they work best synergistically (together).

The B complex of vitamins is essential for healthy neural, digestive and immune system functioning.

The B complex of vitamins is a water soluble complex and as such our bodies can neither store or produce them. Therefore we need to ingest them on a daily basis or suffer the consequences as you unfortunately are.........

When you take your daily supplement ensure that you take it with some type of calcium rich food ie: low fat cheese or milk or a calcium supplement as B12 needs calcium to be properly assimilated by the body........... ensure you also get enough sunshine (vitamin D) or eat cold water fishes such as tuna, salmon, sardines and whiting as calcium needs enough vitamin D to be effectively absorbed!! These cold water fishes are also a rich source of magnesium (known as the antistress mineral) which is probably another thing you need to focus on as well ~ to deal with your stress levels. Quite a handfull of information here ........ sorry it's a bit long winded but you need to know all this.

When our bodies are placed under added stress such as Doctors who treat us as if we are total hypochondriacs, illness, relationship dramas, new job, school studies or just daily life really, the B complex of vitamins are usually the first group to get used up and we therefore need to adjust our intake accordingly.

When you are getting any stress related symptoms or any of the above mentioned symptoms simply take another B tablet. As they are water soluble our bodies will simply excrete any excess in our urine.

Drink loads of fresh filtered water too as the happiest and healthiest body will always be the most hydrated one.

I sincerely wish you the best of health & vitality buddy and hope that you at least drink more water if you aren't already doing that???

CHEERS
?

i think you should see about seeing a defiant doctor and see what they say.
