Question: could she have gotten it from her bf of already 2 yrs? or maybe someone b4 that. Or could her current bf have given it to her and that it takes this long for someone to get it.

She could have gotten it years back or recently. With HPV there is no way of finding out how long a person has had HPV. Unfortunately there is no way to know if her boyfriend gave it to her. Now she has to have protected sex (condom) and wait about 3-6 months and get another Pap test and then she can see if the cell changes have gone away. Either way she has to use a condom every time she has intercourse, whether her boyfriend gave it to her or not, he has it now. HPV will eventually go away but she has to protect herself from both of them passing back and forth to one another. I think she should still get the HPV vaccine, because there are 4 different stages and if she only has 1 stage, then the vaccine can prevent the remaining stages.

he could have passed it, thye should both have gotten tested.

HPV can be sexually transmitted. However, with all of the advertising for the Gardasil vaccine and media attention it almost appears that HPV is only a woman's issue. She got it from one of her boyfriends but it seems that this issue should be what should she do now. What treatment options does she have. She should tell her boyfriends as men do not often show symptoms.

The HPV virus usually grows slowly. She could have had it for years before showing signs.
