If you are weak from sickness, why do they have to make the tablet package so ha!

Question: I have had the flu (I hope it's just the flu) for the past four days now. After the first day, which I thought was just a head cold, I did not feel any better so I purchased the DayQuil/NyQuil liquidgel pills. In my weakened, flu-like state attempting to open these tiny little two pill packages was like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole! It just wasn't going to happen! So I batted my droopy eyelashes at my husband, who is also suffering the same symptoms, and asked if he could attempt the impossible. After about 30 seconds of pulling and peeling and ... what is this plastic made out of!... I finally pulled my kitchen scissors out of their wooden hiding place on the cutlery holder and hacked that little plastic package to bits! Alas, NyQuil! Beautiful, bright green liquidgel..... zzzz.... zzzzz...

I am trying to figure out why they put arthritis medications in child -proof bottles that are impossible to open for someone with arthritis!!

Haha yea that is pretty stupid!

I completely agree! Tylenol cold is not any better!

Here's the answer you've been looking for. The reason that packaging is sometimes so hard to open goes back to about 1978 give or take a year or so. In around that time we had someone actually poison some of our medicinal supplies, so the government stepped up measures to help protect users of over-the-counter meds from ever having to be poisoned again because of a disgruntled med lab worker. hope this answered the question.

Well, it's not only over the counter meds. Ever try to open an Imitrex tablet package when you have a migraine? Ridiculous!
