Bulimia- Bloody nose?!
Question: Today I was purging and blood started coming out of my nose. I've been bulimic for about 3 years on and off. I've tried to stop but I can't. The bloody nose really scared me. If I don't purge after I eat sometimes I feel really anxious or depressed. What do I do?

sounds like you have a serious problem. dont mean to scare you, but if you are purging regularly, and have been for 3 years it should not surprise you that you are seeing affects. i don't know if the bleeding is a result of the purging, i guess that your blood it thin due to lack of nourishment.
whether or not it is related you should definitely go see your doctor, get some help with the anxiety and depression and the bulimia.
without proper amount and variety of food, our bodies do not have the necessary tools to fight disease and repair damage. you may be fine right now, but eventually it will catch up with you, so sort it out before its too late.

hey bulimia is gross dont do that! i would venture a guess that its stomachish acids that have been wearin away at your nasal passage for years?

You know the consequences of what bulimia will do to your body. Your body Is stuffed and needs looking after.....Enough said.
At the back of your troat there are lots of tiny delicate blood vessels so putting your fingers down there to throw up you may have busted some causing your nose to bleed.
As for the bulemia, seek some counselling - (Despite all the negative people leaving negative comments on here who are too self absorbed to see that she needs encouragment to over come a serious condition!!!!!) - there are plenty of qualified people out there that will be willing to help you overcome your condition!
Bulimia can thoroughly screw up your body's chemistry. It can affect everything from your heart to your blood vessels to your teeth!
This calls for serious help; talk with a doctor as soon as possible. If the bleeding does not stop VERY shortly, go to your urgent care/ER. If you have no means to get there, contact 911/999.
Just because it came out of your nose doesn't mean you had a bloody nose - you could have serious internal bleeding going on. Contact a doctor and/or therapist as soon as possible - you're aware that women DIE from this disease, right?
I'm sorry you have to go through this but this isn't something that anybody here could help you with. You need to "cure" yourself from bulimia because it is very harmful to your body, in fact, all that acid from your stomach is burning your esophagus. You should go get help, start by visiting your doctor and then go on from there. I hope all goes well and wish you the best.
