When short of breath and coughing, sometimes it limits the oxygen to the brain causing a thing called hypoxia, a symptom of not enough O2 in the blood is numbness in the extremeties such as hands and fingers and may also show up by slight change in skin color, or if you press your hand on the top and it takes a while for the color to return to that point that also shows lack of decent circulation. I am no doctor, but if you have such serious flu symptoms I would get to a doctor as there are meds available to ease the symptoms, and to clear any oubt in your mind about the numbness. You do not have to feel like s**t on sticks, and the Dr may even prescribe anti biotics, not for the flu as it is viral, but as a prophylactic in case you catch a bacterial infection because your immunities are down. if you have a hystory of heart disease or lung disease also you should get checked out str8 away. he doctor can best advise you. Get well soon.

i think maybe...
