Bloodshot eye is a sign of haemorraghe?!

Question: My boyfriends ex went to the doctors with simply a bloodshot eye which she woke up with.

She came back telling my boyfriend that the doctor had told her this was a sign of haemorraghe and that next time it could be a stroke and that she should kick out my boyfriend.

Is this an accurate diagnosis? can a bloodshot eye actually be a sign of haemorraghe? Would the doctor give such biased advice? or is this total crap ?

please help!

You can get a blood shot eye from coughing, sneezing, poking yourself in the eye, sometimes it just happens.

A bloodshot eye IS a haemaorrage BUT not the way his ex has put it. A haemorrage is a collection or pooling of blood. So a blood shot eye is a haemorraged eye. Nothing more usually.

If she had, had a brain haemorrage as she is hinting at, she wouldn't have come back from the Doctor, but would have been sent straight to the hospital by Ambulance for a MRI.

I have cared for too many stroke patients and non that I can remember has this as a symptom!

As for the Doctor telling her to leave the boyfriend. NO. NO. NO. Unprofessional. Unethical. Unbiased. Not right. Not for a blood shot eye.

IF he HAD BEEN treating her for abuse from the boyfriend then yes he could 'advise' gently to leave and where to get help. But NOT tell her to just leave.

I think she is pulling someone's leg?!

It's total crap. A hemorrhage is a ruptured blood vessel that is bleeding uncontrollably. It often requires surgery to fix it. Unless her eye was hemorrhaging, there would be no link between red eyes and hemorrhage.

I have witness someone with blood shot eyes who had a stroke . But not to be mis diagnosed with a hang over

i think shes feeding you crap

This sounds a bit of jealousy on the part of the ex here.

No doctor would give the advice to "kick out your ex's girlfriend". Or more importantly, that conjunctivitis (it's what she has) can cause strokes...

Pretty sure she's b-sing you. Either that or she's incredibly stupid and blows doctor's advice way out of proportion.

It is total crap and I am sure this isn't the first bunch of **** she has told
