Your mom needs to ask about a newer form of treatment.
It's called infergen and they use it in those who either relapsed or in those who didn't respond to interferon.

read up on a diet for those with diabetes. no alcohol, not a lot of red meats or greens or anything with iron in it- not even a multi-vitamin...and NO artificial sweetners. If she likes something sweet- either small portions of foods with real sugar or she can buy STEVIA- found at GNC. It's sweet, but not sugar, nor artificial.

she can also take milk thistle- which is an herb and the only one approved for use in those with hcv.

make her rest when she should. hcv is not easy to deal with- it makes us very tired, makes our bones and joints hurt and can cause a wide variety of health issues.

if she watches what she eats and drinks and doesn't take a lot of over the counter meds or prescription meds, she should be okay for a long long time- (okay meaning nothing too serious) she will always be sick...quality of life in those with hcv is lower than a healthy persons.

PRAYY!!!
