Answers: Besides the obious that I=infection and D=disease. what is the difference between the two???

STD is a term for Disease, but the medical arena is thinking more like other countries, or leading in it's thinking. Sexually transmitted bacteria, protozoan, virus, fungus and others are truly infections to the human body. Therefore, STIs, or sexually transmitted infections is more politically correct. And most of the STDs/STIs are curable, others are treatable but not curable. Hope this helps! :O)

Sam things - different name.
Generally, STI in Europe - lessens the stigma.
