I doubt your heart is skipping beats. It's probably just piling one beat on another, making it fell like it's skipping. It's called a premature ventricular contraction (PVC), you can read about them here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premature_v...

The causes include:

Anxiety/Stress
Chocolate
Caffeine
Calcium/magnesium imbalance
Dehydration
Exercise
Hormonal imbalance
Hypercapnia (CO2 poisoning)
Hyperstimulation of the Vagus nerve
Lack of sleep/exhaustion
Overeating
Low copper

And, of course, you should see your doctor.

you should go to the doctor. i beleive you may have a heart murrmer,(i cant spell) its an irregular heart beat, when i was in the 10th grade they said i had a small one, that my heart would "skip a beat" you might wanna go check that out

I doubt it's anything serious. Sometimes it's stress related or appears to happen because you are worried that it is happening. Best to go along to your local doctor and let them have a listen with a stethoscope just in case. But I would not worry.

go to the doc right away u could die trust me i have had heart probs not skipping heart beats. go to the doc. now right now.

I went to a specialist with skipping heart beats. I wore a halter monitor to keep check on this for 24 hours. I was
told this is harmless.
If it is bothering you, I suggest you see a Doctor, and he
will decide if you need it checked out.

Consult a doctor immediately to diagnose your case, it could be fibrillation but heart ailments need attention... a cardiologist can help you better with this. See one now but don't put too much worry on it as it may aggreviate the condition just consult a cardio ASAP
