OMG I HATE oily skin!!!!?!

Question: I usually don't have oily skin. I have acne prone which means I breakout around my period. Well, somedays at school my skin is fine and looks perfect and then sometimes it gets oily. Especially on my forehead and nose!! Its so annoying!! How do I "cut down" the oil? So my face dosen't look shiny and red?!

Need help ladies!!

thx :)

Contrary to what someone here said, the worst possible thing you can do with oily skin is to wash it too much. DO NOT NOT NOT wash your skin more than is absolutely necessary - twice a day is fine. This is because washing removes oil from the skin so washing many times will strip the skin of the oil it NEEDS to stay moisturised instead of dry and flaky. As a result the skin starts to 'overproduce' its natural oils to make up for the lack of oil which actually causes oily skin in the first place! So 1) DONT wash too much and 2) MOISTURISE. These are vital points for oily skin(I have it too) - you want to keep the oil levels in balance and not strip your skin of all the moisture it has.

I recommend an oil-free moisturiser(Simple are good) , NO soap(I use Dove exfoliating bar which is 100% soap free) and no oil-based cosmetics(if u use makeup at all, try mineral makeup instead).

Another thing is blotting paper which gently removes any excess oil that accumulates on your face over the day, especially the T-zone (in my case) - it helps give a matte look to your face(I use Clarity Shine control paper but any will do).

Finally, be sure to exfoliate once a week using a gentle exfoliator - this is an excellent way of regulating the skin's moisture levels and helping to keep it supple and balanced but dont overdo it- once a week is perfect.

Good luck =)

There are little linen tissues or rice paper tissues that you can press on your forehead and nose to absorb the oil.

i have the same problem. Do what i do... wash wash wash. Wash your face as many times for the day as u can. There are soaps that helps. Neutrogena i guess..

Usually your hair gets oily, it causes your skin to get oily. You need to take a shower everyday, wash your face day and night.

every night before going to bed wash ur face with hand sope and let it dry. after wash it out and put lotion it realy doesnt matter wat kind u use

i dont want to mess up the answers above, but do NOT over wash.. it will rupture your skins texture and you will have more oily etc problems.. wash it daily or find your own phase twice, three times a day and stay with a soft facial soft. If your skin gets as dry as mine after you wash it. use water based moisturizer. also make masks from fruits and even vegetables such as the popular cucumber, apple, strawberry, anything that sounds good to you will be just as good for your skin because as you told us it is not very happy! haha honey and milk are also great masks, you can mix them or is you dont like the sound use them seperate! best of wishes!
