My moms eye is unbelievably swollen...?!
Question: my mom woke up this morning with an unbelievably swollen eye... it's oozing some...
earlier this week, she was told by a masseuse that if you put hydrogen peroxide into your ear, it clears your sinuses. so therefore she did it... and is now wondering if all of her sinus problems... are coming out her eye...lol i hope this makes sense...but what do you guys think about this?
her eye is really painful...and she was wondering if her eye could...burst...lol i don't see how that would be possible...but does anyone know the urgency of this? and what to do? she has been putting compresses on it, and chamomile tea bags...

I would greatly encourage your mom to go to the doctor as soon as possible. Her eyesight is too precious to take a chance that this could be something really serious.
Eyes ears and nose are all connected inside she has given herself an infection by putting a foreign body in her ear she should go to the chemist or Doctor for the proper medicine meanwhile carefully wash her eye in boiled cool water.
its orbital cellulitis ,go striaght to the er ,its very serious
sounds like she may have a stye...
probably nothing to do with the peroxide thing...we've cleaned ears with it for years.
if she can't get to a doctor...there is an over the counter ointment for styes..incidentally the medicine is also called stye...put this ointment in her eye as recommended...it eases the pain and swelling..even if it is not an actual stye.
if it is....the stye will pop like a pimple in a few days and it will get better. if it is a stye you will see a little white head on her eyelid where it is swollen...which will get bigger before it gets better. I use to get these all the time.
but this could be pink-eye which is contagious and needs medical attention.
