Really swollen...help please FAST?!
Question: my mom woke up this morning with an unbelievably swollen eye... it's oozing some...
earlier this week, she was told by a masseuse that if you put hydrogen peroxide into your ear, it clears your sinuses. so therefore she did it... and is now wondering if all of her sinus problems... are coming out her eye...lol i hope this makes sense...but what do you guys think about this?
her eye is really painful...and she was wondering if her eye could...burst...lol i don't see how that would be possible...but does anyone know the urgency of this? and what to do? she has been putting compresses on it, and chamomile tea bags...

If there is not a problem with her going to a doctor, I would take her to the doctor. I never act on medical advice from someone outside the medical practice, and I would suggest she do the same. If she needs help quickly take her to the emergency department at the hospital. Self medication and medical practice on ones self is dangerous. Herbs are for help when your medicine needs help, and when it is not against the doctor's OK to use it.
Maybe try going to the doctor??

ok, i'd really get to the hospital. Your sight is vital and you should value it so take care of your eyes. It'll do no harm i n getting it checked out!
try putting ice on it, other wise go see a docter. It could be allergies.
Painful eyes + oozing = not really good. I would probably just go see a doctor, rather than asking random people on the internet.

the masseuse needs to be fired because he's/she's an idiot. the ear/nose/throat are all connected, but not like the masseuse thinks.
this is urgent. she has to go to the doctor! i say that a million times on Y!A... maybe i should just have a copy&paste response.
the hydrogen peroxide probably didn't cause her oozing eye.
but, the oozing eye is bad, and needs to get checked out.

Beyond that, putting anything in your outer ear is going to do nothing to your sinuses. Unless you are missing your eardrum, they are not connected.
oh God....This makes my eyes hurt just reading about this.... Is it possible that she got some of the peroxide in her eye while she was putting it in her ear??? If so, tell her to go to the Opthomolagist right away!!!!!!1
Tell your mother to go to the hospital at once eyes are very precious you cannot afford to take chances as for the masseuse she is breaking the law giving medical advice for which she is totally unqualified. advise your mother to keep away from her.
A sinus infection can cause an eye problem sometimes.
she could have something in her eye. I would see an eye doctor. All you are doing is fine, but I think an eye doctor is the best answer.
She needs to go to a doctor as soon as possible!!!
Pus from an eye is not a good thing. So, I would get her to an urgent care center or emergency room since it's a weekend.
A masseuse is not a doctor, so I would not pay attention to any of that. None of us on here can tell you the right thing either - go to the doctors. You don't want to mess with your eyes.

Why anyone would suggest pouring peroxide into an ear canal is a good thing is beyond me.
Suggest staying away from the masseuse. Or if they're a REALLY good one, at least stay away from his/her advice.
go to the emergence room anytime your eye is that bad it usually means something else is wrong....goo...especailly if its light sensitive
