Major stiffness in hands numb and cannot make a fist or have any use of hands, w!

Question: It could be almost anything. It could be too much of a muscle-relaxing medication, it could be a pinched nerve, it could be a stroke, a heart attack, it could be an allergic reaction, it could be hyperventilation, it could be a nerve disorder, arthritis, alien abduction...it could be so many things that you really need to get to a doc ASAP!
If this just started tonight, get to an emergency room. If you've lived with this for a long time and didn't die, then make a doc appt on Monday. But if it just started, don't sit around writing on yahoo! go to the hospital!

arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome

If it is limited to one hand it could possibly be carpal tunnel. If both hands are equal then I would be looking at something systemic. RA is a possibility. There are blood markers called rheumatoid factor that can be measured to determine if it is RA.
