Why is blue/black ink used for radiation tattoos instead of brown or pink?!

Question: I wonder if other colors might react poorly under radiation or if radiologists just want very easy to find landmarks. Brown or pink marks might look more natural in the long run but I suppose radiologists would worry about using a real freckle or mole instead of the tattoo. Has anyone heard of a trend to use more natural colors for marking radiation fields?

If someone is firing destructive radiation through your body, you want to be sure that they are lining up the rays as closely as possible.

When you have to have radiation treatment it is usually a question of saving your life. Blue shows up best.
