Chlamydia question....?!

Question: Is it possible to have chlamydia for over 5 years, and for it not to be detected with a swab??
Is it possible to have PID for 5 years and not notice any
symptoms..?
I have been with my partner for 6 years & we are ttc without success for 17 months.
I am currently been tested for fertility likewise my partner.
I had a STD test (swab) performed 4 years ago because I was getting urine infections, it came back negative, I was with my partner for a year when this was happening.

Several months ago whilst going through first commencing testing of fertility, I was diagnosed with chlamydia. I had symptoms of irregular periods, spotting, and slight cramps.

As you can guess I was shocked upset angry and blamed my partner. He's test later came back negative.
For sure neither of us has played away.
We went to the Dr's asking for answers, and they couldn't give us any. Only other suggestion is that when i had a smear done 6 months before i started spotting the disease was passed on?

Asymptomatic chlamydia can exist & can be there in the body for a long time. This is quite common.

did you get anti biotics for UTI 4 years ago - antibiotics could have masked the infection when the swab was taken.

Its no use blaming your partner, if you have had asymptomatic ( i.e without any symptoms) chlamydia.

if your doctor is not helpful, see a genito- urinary specialist.

Your partner is lying and had himself treated for chlamydia before he done the test with you

i dont know honey but something doesnt sound rite

It is possible for you to have chlamydia for 5 years and not know BUT you had a swab done 4 years ago and it would have been picked up then !!!!!
Is it possible for your partner to have had it and got treatment and not tell you ?????( he could have had it for years too,, even before he met you ) maybe he's too embarrased to say.
Something ain't adding up !!!

No wonder us men can walk over you. GULIBLE

My (now ex) partner did that too - he'd slept with two other people, and declined to tell me that one had chlamydia, and then that he had been treated for it....
Don't neccessairly believe him, though don't neccesarily blame him either, although as it didn't show up on a swab then and has now, it does hint at you having contracted it since then, and as it's sexually transmitted and you haven't had sex with anyone else, I personally can't see any other explanation...
